Weird, as it turns out the new RTX 3080 / 3090 SUPRIM series (which we reviewed here and here) had been paused for shipments likely on a suspected issue. However, after analysis, the cards are shipping again as normal.

A Reddit user who was on the waiting list for the RTX 3080 Suprim X stated two days ago that the cards are being recalled by the manufacturer. MSI indicates in a statement that it is not a recall but a pause. It now says there are no problems with the cards and sales will resume. Points of sale would not have received stock yet, there are only reviews of the products to be found.

Since TW is fast asleep right now I can't skype my VGA team contacts, however, the colleagues from TPU had a statement at hand:

In order to ensure the best quality of our new SUPRIM flagship series and to offer you the best Gaming experience, we decided to hold back the shipment for a last-minute check. Now we are sure that the quality of our product is optimal and the shipments will recommence.
