MSI Launches X299 XPOWER Gaming AC Motherboard

MSI is proud to announce its newest X299 flagship motherboard, the X299 XPOWER GAMING AC. Designed for PC enthusiasts and overclockers who love sheer performance, the new XPOWER features an 14 phase (12+1+1) DigitALL premium power design with Loadline Calibration. The XPOWER GAMING AC is built on the strengths of the XPOWER models through several generations, black & yellow or TITANIUM silver. This generation the colors are back to black to emphasize the XPOWER legacy.

The reactor design of the PCH heatsink embodies the power this new high-tech model has to offer. With the addition of MSI’s Turbo Socket and External Clock Gen, powered by top quality components from Military Class 6, such as Titanium ChokeII for higher efficiency and power delivery, even the most demanding overclockers are being challenged to push the new XPOWER to its limits.

Besides top-level performance, the X299 XPOWER GAMING AC also features new unique features. The M.2 Shield FROZR is MSI’s new built-in M.2 thermal solution so you never have to worry about your PCI-Express based NVMe M.2 SSD to start throttling, lowering down performance. This premium M.2 Shield heatsink is connected to the motherboards’ PCH heatsink which features its same thickness and robustness as well as great cooling capabilities. 2x M.2 Shield v2 heatsinks are also available to deliver maximum performance when using multiple M.2 devices at the same time.

With the choice between 16.8 million colors and 17 LED effects, MYSTIC LIGHT RGB allow anyone to completely transform their system and perfectly match colors with other components. To make any build more unique, one can use the 3D X-Mounting screws included to 3D print own designs or simply download available designs for things as FAN stands, VGA card support or more covers, and apply them with ease to the XPOWER’s chassis mounting holes.

With Audio Boost 4, powered by Nahimic 2+, the X299 XPOWER GAMING AC delivers the highest sound quality through the use of premium quality audio components and an isolated audio PCB. An added audio cover and golden audio connectors ensure the purest audio signal.

X299 XPOWER GAMING AC also equipped with all the latest storage standards. TURBO M.2 and U.2 are available as well as plenty of SATA ports. Included in the box is the new M.2 Xpander-Z PCI-E add-on card. Once installed, a total of 5x M.2 slots are now available to be used, even at the same time to satisfy all the needs of any power user.

Typically there is. Personally I think this board looks good, but I know not everyone likes them. I know that on my ASUS board I can disable them via BIOS or the software utility.

Has an 8 pin and 4 pin power connector so it might not cook its VRM like other x299 boards do.

Yeah, though it's also in cases worse with the heatsink on the board rather than off. Weird that... "cool" looking heatsinks with barely any surface area heating the vrm's instead of cooling them...
