MSI is paving that monitor road pretty fast as they introduced yet another model. This round a perfectly comfortable panel sized 2560x 440px, or (Wide) Quad HD / WQHD monitor is being released. This new version comes with a refresh rate of 165 Hz, which seems to become the new Hz race among monitor and panel producers.

The newly announced MSI Optix PAG272QR2 monitor has a proper size of 27″ IPS panel and thus has that 1440p resolution and 165Hz refresh rate. Specs that are pretty sweet overall really. The panel is based on IPS technology, and it will support a wide range of colors (10-bit colors, well 8bit+FRC) that cover 150% of the sRGB color gamut, 99% of the Adobe RGB color gamut, and 98% of the gamut DCI-P3 (which is an incredibly high value). The monitor is tagged being FreeSync compatible, thus we expect adaptive sync Gsync compatible as well. The HDR screen comes with blue light filtering. Its video inputs are listed at 2x HDMI 2.0 and 2x DisplayPort 1.4.

While the monitor is tagged being HDR, the HDR level (as far as e could figure out) is just 300 nits, so that's nothing special at all. However, MSI will use quantum dot technology in the display ergo that 98% in gamut DCI-P3. On the back of the monitor you will find some RGB LED inclusion. There are no official pricing or availability details yet, as MSI has yet to make a full announcement of the monitor. The sales price is expected to site at 399 USD/449 EUR.
