MSI Issues Recall for MAG CoreLiquid 240R and 360R AiO Coolers - Sediment Build-Up
MSI is recalling its MAG CoreLiquid 240R / 360R AiO coolers due to the possibility of a blockage occurring in a "small percentage of the liquid coolers."
Naturally, an obstruction to the passage of fluids through your AiO is extremely undesirable and may drastically limit its efficacy, even before a blockage forms. If you possess one of the aforementioned AiO cooler types, MSI has detailed the symptoms to look for and established a recall page. You then enter your product's serial number to initiate the RMA procedure. According to MSI's problem description, a batch of MAG CoreLiquid 240R / 360R AiO coolers may contain a liquid coolant that has the potential to precipitate silt over time. As a result, silt buildup might result in system obstructions. MSI reports that it began receiving complaints concerning the recalled CoreLiquid products an unknown amount of time prior to the recall. According to MSI, the issue with sediment-induced obstruction presents itself when CPU idle temps above 60 degrees Celsius. As such, this is one of the qualifying statistics for recall participation, or you may claim that you are suffering "abnormal heat dissipation."
MSI MAG CORELIQUID 240R / 360R Product Announcement
Dear MSI users,
Recently, we have received feedback from some of our users that they have experienced a drop in heat dissipation efficiency when using the MAG CORELIQUID 240R / MAG CORELIQUID 360R liquid coolers. Our preliminary investigation has identified that a small portion of the liquid coolers produce sediment that can cause a blockage. This, however, will not cause any damage to your system since the processors are equipped with a protection mechanism against overheating. MSI cares deeply about our users’ overall experience and we simplified our processes to provide faster product replacement services.
Users can identify whether they have an affected products by looking up the product serial number here. We will provide a comprehensive product replacement (MAG CORELIQUID 240R V2 / 360R V2) service to all affected products that have abnormal heat dissipation ( Example: CPU temperature is higher than 60°C while idle and the cooler is properly seated with thermal paste applied between the CPU and cooler
If you possess one of the above-mentioned items and are unsure if it is functioning properly, the first step is to enter your product serial number in the area at the bottom of this page. According to MSI, if the cooler was purchased as part of a pre-built PC system, the RMA serial number would be associated with the desktop PC, not the cooler. This one-line form should warn you immediately if your product is included in the possibly compromised batch.
Moving forward, we will continue to work with our suppliers to thoroughly inspect all MAG CORELIQUID 240R / 360R liquid coolers that may potentially be affected. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your local MSI Customer Service Center.

I just sent my 360r back for RMA 3 weeks ago. I wasn't paying attention and it started to shut down mid game. Then I noticed my temps at idle in the 70's and games at 90+, This failure happens fast so watch out if you have one, and yes it's on it's way back now, but I'm very happy with It's replacement, a Corsair H150i
