It is predicted that Intel will unveil the B760 chipset alongside a number of additional 13th generation Core CPUs at CES in January. Details of subsequent motherboards have already begun to surface.

Details regarding Gigabyte's B760 Aorus Elite have already surfaced, and now VideoCardz has published very detailed images of MSI's forthcoming B760 MAG Tomahawk. The configuration of the board is nearly identical to that of the B660, however there appear to be some slight variations in the positioning of the headers. In order to provide power to the MAG B760 Tomahawk, it has two separate 8-pin power connectors. There have been no major changes to the VRM since the B660 version. It follows that the original 12+1+1 configuration for the power stages should still be used.

The B760 Tomahawk from MSI is a PC that has a normal ATX layout and two PCI Express x16 expansion slots (given the upgrades to Intel 700 series, those could now be both Gen4). Under the covers, you will find three M.2 PCIe slots. Despite our lack of access to the full specifications, the box makes reference to "Lightning Gen5", suggesting that at least one of the M.2 slots is PCIe Gen5 compatible.

It is successor is compatible with DDR4 memory speeds of up to 5333 MT/s (overclocked) in 1 DIMM Per Channel mode (single rank). Since Intel's 13th-generation Core processors and accompanying chipsets place a greater emphasis on increasing DDR5 memory speeds, the B760's DDR4 OC support is likely to evolve soon.

Next year will see the release of the B760 MAG Tomahawk alongside the 65W Intel 13th Gen Core non-K series. This will include both DDR5 and DDR4 memory options. Note that the B660 version already supports these processors; due to the similarities between the two boards, the more expensive one (by around $190) should be considered first.
