MSI announces GeForce GTX 1070 and 1080 Gaming Z

MSI announces GeForce GTX 1070 and 1080 Gaming Z

With a Z not an X. MSI is proud to unleash the ultimate premium Pascal-powered graphics cards. The exclusive MSI GeForce GTX 1080 GAMING Z 8G and MSI GeForce GTX 1070 GAMING Z 8G cards are the fastest clocked versions available from MSI.

As the last character of the alphabet, Z also represents the final form of MSI GAMING graphics cards. Rocking the award-winning TWIN FROZR VI thermal design with supreme cooling power allows the GAMING Z cards to have extreme core and memory clock speeds out of the box. The renowned shapes of the eye-catching TWIN FROZR cooler are intensified by a fiery red GAMING glow piercing through the cover. A completely new custom 10-phase PCB design using Military Class 4 components with an 8+ 6-pin power connectors enables higher overclocking performance to push your graphics card to the max.

Besides making the cards more rigid, the classy matte black backplate of GAMING Z cards feature an RGB LED shield which, together with the MSI GAMING dragon RGB LED on the side can be set to any of 16.8 million colors to reflect your mood or build.

MSI’s new TWIN FROZR VI Thermal Design raises the bar of Graphics Card air cooling. TORX Fan 2.0 is the enhanced version of the patented TORX Fan technology which generates 22% more air pressure for better cooling performance while further reducing noise levels. The new fans are equipped with Double Ball Bearings to ensure lasting smooth and silent operation. Connected to the huge heatsink are 8mm copper heat pipes with a squared shape at the bottom for optimal heat transfer from the solid nickel-plated copper baseplate combined with premium thermal compound X to keep the Pascal powerhouse cool.

We have both card in-house already, these will be reviewed in the closeby future of course.

So basically a Gaming X with ARRRRGEEEEBEEEEEE!!!11one

The clocks you can easily tune yourself with AB, unless the Z cards are very well binned (which I doubt).

Maybe if I had a windowed side panel I would care more for these lights...

Mine came with only 1898-1938~ out of the box, but I too can get to ~2063MHz without much trouble. You have to be really, REALLY lucky to get a 1070/1080 (especially 1070) at a stable 2100... and beyond (lol!). :O

They could have just added an OC on the Gaming X's name instead.
