MSI 300 series mainboards get AMD Ryzen 5000 BIOS Support
Are you considering upgrading to the future Ryzen processors with 3D V-Cache but are currently using a motherboard with the 300 chipset? Well, MSI appears to be introducing "hidden" Ryzen 5000 support.
MSI released a BIOS update in November for select older motherboards equipped with 300 chipsets. This not only adds Windows 11 support to the boards but also silently and covertly adds support for Ryzen 5000 (and presumably future refresh models).
While not listed in the BIOS description of the November update, the mobos appear to be competible. The Series 300 motherboards could support even the future Vermeer-X processors with 3D V-Cache. However, until that time comes, the new CPUs must be introduced. The following section contains a list of all boards whose BIOS should be compatible with Ryzen 5000.
It appears that not all Ryzen 5000 processors and motherboards are compatible. The 5000G APUs (Cezanne) appear to be unsupported. MSI 300 series motherboards for Ryzen 5000 - BIOS versions:

this is great, I have the x370 GAMING PRO with a 3600x, and I wanted a 5800x but... is a bit late, now I'm looking forward to the next architecture change, Ryzen 6000?, the one that will follow the 3DVcache

Until that moment when you get an RX 6800/6900 Gaming X/Z card

I've needed to RMA 2 of them...now I'm hoping for the 3rd one to survive my Xmas annual leave.
I only used them undervolted, the 1st try overheated, 2nd died on me in 10 days...3rd one has been in my PC for 6 days...there is still hope

But as of now, my MSI X570 Unify is one the best MB I've ever had.

There you go! One board for the whole DDR4 generation for me. One board that does it all. I appreciate it.

That's very good, now let's see if other manufacturers dare too, come on Asrock.
