DigiTimes reports first-tier motherboard makers Asustek, Pegatron, MSI and Gigabyte all saw over 10 percent on-month revenue drops in May, due to declining demand from Europa and China.

Asustek announced revenues of NT$21.84 billion (US$674.12 million) for May, down 22% on month, but up 79.71% on year. The company's combined revenues for the first five months of 2010 reached NT$124.57 billion, up 83.22% on year.

Although Asustek's president Jerry Shen previously noted that the company will see flat performance in its second quarter revenues, as Asustek's notebook, netbook and motherboard businesses are all seeing weakening demand, some market watchers believe Asustek's second quarter revenues will drop 5-10% sequentially.
