A modder, identified as jedi95, has recently achieved a significant accomplishment by overclocking the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics card. By ingeniously modifying the card, jedi95 was able to raise its maximum power consumption, usually limited to 355W.

The modder used an Elmor Labs EVC2SE connected to the card's I2C bus to bypass the power restriction, allowing for additional speed improvements.

This overclocking effort produced outstanding results, with the Radeon RX 7900 XTX attaining a maximum speed of 3467MHz and maintaining a steady average clock speed of 3333MHz. These increased speeds led to extraordinary performance when tested with the reputable 3DMark benchmarking tool. The Time Spy graphics benchmarks displayed scores of 38,725 at standard settings and 19,137 for extreme graphics settings. Additionally, the card achieved benchmark scores of 20,492 on Port Royal and 7,690 on Speedway.

It is important to mention that this enhanced performance resulted in increased power consumption, with the modified Radeon RX 7900 XTX consuming about 696W of energy. To address this, jedi95 provided a guide for actively cooling the card with chilled water, ensuring optimal temperatures during heavy use. jedi95's groundbreaking overclocking achievements with the Radeon RX 7900 XTX have drawn attention from the Reddit community and enthusiasts seeking to maximize the performance of their graphics cards.
