MINISFORUM has announced the release of their new UM780/790Pro mini consoles. The UM780 is expected to be equipped with the R7 7840HS processor, while the UM790Pro is expected to be equipped with the more powerful R9 7940HS processor.

Both mini consoles are anticipated to feature 12CU core displays, two front USB-C ports, two HDMI ports, one wired network port, and four USB-A ports. Although the company has not confirmed the APU used in the mini consoles, Chinese media reports suggest that the UM780 will be powered by the Ryzen 7 7840HS, a 16-core Zen4 APU with a boost of up to 5.1GHz, while the UM790Pro will feature the even more powerful Ryzen 9 7940HS with a boost of up to 5.2GHz. Both mini consoles will have the same RDNA3 integrated graphics with 12 Compute Units, clocked at a minimum of 2.7GHz (2.8GHz for the 7940HS).

The UM780/790Pro mini consoles are expected to be upgrades from the previous UM690 system, which packed the Ryzen 9 6900HX APU. The new models are also reported to have slightly changed connector layouts, with an additional USB Type-C connector on the front and four USB-A ports on the back. The system will also be equipped with one HDMI 2.1 connector and an Ethernet port. However, the company has yet to provide all the details, including the release date and price.
