Microsoft will announce Windows 11 today, you can watch the announcement here

We've been mentioning Windows 11 for a while now, and the announcement is looking to be closer than expected. In fact, we've found a few ways to monitor today's announcements. Windows 11 will very likely become a free upgrade for existing Windows 10 users.

Everything points to the fact that the announcements will take place at 11 AM Eastern Time, 17:00 CEST. The event would be imminent on Microsoft's website . At 21 pm there will be a separate live stream on YouTube are for developers. This would have to do with the expected updated Store in the next version of the operating system.

Thanks to a download link for an (incomplete) beta of the new OS, it was already possible to see the new, more rounded design style in action in areas such as the taskbar, start menu and window, along with the modernized icons. Widgets have also been added, an option has been created to view power consumption per app and there are new privacy functions. Microsoft has more or less confirmed the existence of Windows 11 in a support document . The update is officially called Sun Valley or 21H2 October Update 2021, so it will probably be available in October this year. It is not yet known for sure whether users with Windows 7, 8 or 10 will be able to upgrade for free.

Is it just cosmetic front-end changes?
Is really a 10.1 upgrade, rather than a full version 10->11 upgrade?

This reminds me of the way some companies version numbers go up very slowly eg. 1.2.1 to 1.2.2 for major changes whereas other software does stupid big major number jumps for minor changes eg v65 to v80 in a few years (hello Firefox i'm talking about you).

Seems a lot of software companies now said frack it, we will stop doing proper versioning, and instead just bump up the main number version on every patch because that's what everyone else is doing these days, and its better for marketing and end users think its much newer, bigger and better...

No its not. Its said to have some heavy scheduler changes and will support big.LITTLE CPU's like what Intel is about to roll out.

Not looking forward to all of our users "accidentally" upgrading and finding out there's bugs in Autodesk and other software...

-This should not happen. If you're admin, then it's up to you to STOP this from happening with WSUS. (Windows Software Update Services). Create a WSUS machine. Done. Problem resolved.
-The moment any type of official test build appears, it's again up to you to test and get to know the issues.

Autodesk should also have patches out upon the release date of WIN 11. Issues? Nah, be active and avoid them. :)

Worst streaming ever. If Windows 11 lags and buffers like this I'm out, PC community can burn to crispy hell!

the video in the linkdoesn't even start... that's... not a good first look for MS. They should stream on known platforms instead.
