Microsoft Research Presents Multitouch Mice at UIST

This year's UIST (ACM Symposium on User Interface Software and Technology), currently taking place in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada from October 4th until October 7th, "brings together researchers and practitioners from diverse areas that include traditional graphical & web user interfaces, tangible & ubiquitous computing, virtual & augmented reality, multimedia, new input & output devices, and CSCW."

One of it's main sponsors, Microsoft Research, got some attention yesterday for their presentation of working prototypes of a new family of multitouch mice. The five prototypes include:

  • FTIR (Frustrated Total Internal Reflection) Mouse
  • Side Mouse
  • Orb Mouse
  • Arty Mouse
  • Cap Mouse
