Microsoft is working on cheaper Disc-Less Xbox
Microsoft is reportedly working on an Xbox without a tray for reading DVD / CDs. The game console would be released to the market in the spring of 2019, reports the news site dedicated to Microsoft Thurrott.
According to the news site it will be a cheaper version. Thurrott expects the new Xbox to cost $ 200 (converted 175 euro) or less. The release of the Xbox is combined with a program from Microsoft that enables users to convert their CDs with games into a digital version. Users have to go to a store to exchange their CDs. Another Xbox, which according to Thurrott is part of a product line with the name Scarlett, according to the news site in 2020. Whether this Xbox gets a storage tray is unclear.

Is that really disc-less? It just sounds like 'tray-less' rather than no disc...

This seems like a big mistake to me.
Almost halving the multi-media value.

Interesting, i like the bit about making your retai copies into digital, i would have no issue with that as a feature now, hell i am gettting really lazy now that even changing a disc from 8 feet away is a chore.
But this will no doubt be just another model along with the normal 4k optical drive versions, and hey more choice is always good, and even moreso for us really lazy gamers. lol

Any info on specs?
And for this device would be cool to have game cache exportable to USB storage. Something like Steam does.
Not fun to re-download 200GB of games.
