Microsoft halts Windows October 2018 update due to missing user files
Microsoft has paused the rollout of the Windows 10 October 2018 Update (version 1809) for all users as they investigate reports of users missing some files after updating.
Microsoft has responded to user reports by pausing the rollout of the Fall update, something that also happened with the previous major update in April, which was also temporarily postponed due to a bug. Microsoft recommends users who downloaded the update manually to install it and ask to wait for a new version. When the new update will roll out again is not yet known, neither is the cause of the new bug known. To be updated.

If this happened to me I would never install win10 ever again. When's the last time you heard of win7 deleting user files? Never.

Main PC and tablet updated, both without problems, everything went smooth.
Lucky, I guess.
Same here, updated all my three rigs without any noticeable hiccup....

Checked WU today (after about a week of absence from PC) and was wondering why 1809 didn't show up, guess this is why.
Better they fix it first any way.

Has this something to do with the user settings? I recall flipping a switch (disable) storage sense, but I don't recall if it was on by default?
