The Microsoft Flight Simulator 40th Anniversary Edition was released. It added a lot more to the flight simulator than just new content. This big update improved the game's performance in several ways, so it will use your PC's hardware better.

With changes to how DirectX 12 is implemented, the game would use less VRAM to run. The developers also fixed some glitches in the graphics that happened when you switched to the cockpit view. With the Microsoft Flight Simulator 40th Anniversary Edition, AMD FSR 2 technology was also made available, making images look better. The game now has official support for DLSS 3, which will also make it run faster on computers with a new graphics card from the RTX 40 series.

This is a big update to the game because it lets you use props made just for flight sims. Products like the VelocityOne Flight Stick from Turtlebeach, the Alpha Flight Controls from Honeycomb, the Charlie Pedals from Honeycomb, and the TCA Sidestick X from Thrustmaster are now certified for use with Flight Simulator. There were also changes made to the game's virtual reality system. The VR mode navigation interface was changed in a number of ways, such as by fixing toolbars and panels that could show up wrong.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 40th Anniversary Edition is now available for Xbox Series X/S and PC. It adds a lot of new features to the game. Along with better maps and plane models, the update added helicopters, four classic commercial airports, and a number of planes from earlier games in the series.
