Microsoft has announced the Xbox Series S. On Twitter, the company mentions that it is "the smallest Xbox ever", coming to you at a suggested retail price of 299 euros. More details have not yet been announced. Additional information will follow soon, Microsoft promises.

The Series S will reside next to the Series X and serves as an entry-level model. Microsoft will release the Xbox Series X, which will compete with the PlayStation 5, in November. This Xbox does not seem to have a disc tray, like the Xbox One X and One S. In July it was announced that Microsoft would stop producing these game consoles. The console gets an NVME SSD as standard with a storage space of 512GB. Here are the specifications:

  • Console All-Digital
  • 60% smaller than Xbox Series X
  • 512GB NVME SSD disc powered by Xbox Velocity Architecture
  • Resolution 1440p up to a maximum of 120FPS
  • DirectX Raytracing
  • VRS
  • Upscaling 4K games
  • Native 4K media playback

Presumably, the Xbox Series S offers less computing power, and games are played at a lower resolution compared to the Series X as well Microsoft would release more information about both game consoles on November 10. The Series X is now rumored to sell at 499 dollars.
