The most recent upper-mainstream class SoC claims to deliver flagship-level experiences at a lower cost in a variety of disciplines including connectivity, gaming, multimedia, display, and imaging.

The CPU is built on a 4nm technology and has a Cortex-A78 3.1GHz 1 + Cortex-A78 3.0GHz 3 + Cortex-A55 2GHz 4 octa-core arrangement, the GPU features Mali-G610 MC6, and the maximum memory is LPDDR5 6,400Mbps. MediaTek HyperEngine 6.0 gaming technology is also included, which includes ray tracing, variable rate shading, and MediaTek Intelligent Display Sync 2.0, a quick reaction engine. It is believed to allow for seamless, high-frame-rate gameplay. With MediaTek Intelligent Display Sync 2.0, the display can display Full HD+/180Hz or WQHD+/120Hz at different refresh rates.

Furthermore, the image processing processor is outfitted with the Imagiq 785 ISP, which supports 320MP photo shooting, up to 3 14bit HDR video recording, AI noise reduction function, and so on. The inbuilt 5G modem is 3GPP Release-16 compliant, supports 3CC carrier aggregation, and has tri-band Wi-Fi 6E, which improves communication performance on the Sub-6 band. Smartphones featuring the new "Dimensity 8200" processor will be available in the United States as early as December.
