Manufacturers Confirm Intel 11th Generation Support on 400 Series Motherboards
Intel itself is not talking about it, however, board partners are now confirming that existing 400 series motherboards will support the 11th generation of processors (Rocket Lake-S). It seems that manufacturers got tired of waiting and have already started updating their pages ensuring compatibility.
ASRock motherboard models that have already been confirmed to receive support for the new series of processors. The good news here is that they are not only limited to the Z490 models (which are the majority), but we also have a W480 and an H470. Obviously a BIOS update will be mandatory with the new processors.
Meanwhile, Biostar went even further by mentioning support. The company has already made a banner promoting the support of its Z490 series cards for Intel's 11th generation processors. The banner only highlights the Z490 models, which seems to indicate that support will be restricted to those specified in the case of Biostar.
