Why not? Seems to me as probably the only protection that keeps pirates away and doesn't affect customers. I believe the SSD "issue" has been debunked already.

Hangar 13 works for 2K and are still getting help as needed from 2K Czech office in Brno.
Be warned it doesn't come from the same studio as the prequels, though.
