Longsys Electronics shares DDR5 DRAM performed with Alder Lake

Longsys Electronics shares DDR5 DRAM performed with Alder Lake

Chinese company Longsys has created and tested the fifth generation memory. The manufacturer demonstrated the new RAM speed and compared it with the performance of current DDR4 system memory.

Longsys shows a DDR5 module with 32 GB capacity a massive CAS Latency (CL) of 40 CL but low operating voltages of 1.1 V clocked at 6400 MHz. In the end DDR5 will move upwards to 8400 MHz and capacities up to 128 GB per DIMM. Longsys has run some benchmarks, using an 8-core Alder Lake CPU, in AIDA64 and Ludashi. The company then proceeded to compare these results with DDR4-3200 MHz CL22 memory, which Longsys also manufactures.

Longsys DRAM R&D took the lead when it came to investing in new-generation DDR5 product testing technologies. Select test data has been unveiled to the public for the first time. The test that is presented utilized the development board of the Intel AlderLake-S ADP-S CRB and memory module of the Longsys DDR5 32GB 4800 in Windows 10 Pro x64 OS. The actual DDR5 data is shown in AIDA64.

AIDA64 test data - The test allocates scores for the read/write/copy/latency performance of the Longsys DDR5 32GB 6400. To highlight the improvement in performance, DDR4 test data is provided for comparison. The data shows that performance from the Longsys DDR5 has improved by leaps and bounds.

To run the tests, a 12th generation Intel pre-production processor was installed, the frequency of which was limited to only 800 MHz, which could affect the final results. It is worth noting that engineering samples were used when testing the memory. Therefore, the figures for commercial copies may differ slightly.  In AIDA64 the  DDR5 module is faster anywhere from 12-36% aside from latency; doubled that for DDR5 from DDR4.

I think it will be quite some time until DDR5 passes top tier DDR4 B-die for gaming ... (also price wise) . It is not bad time to invest in solid 32 gb of b-die , it will last for very very long.

absolutely

This will allow igpu's to become little powerhouses what most excites me anymore with the sad state of pc gaming atm APU's are mostly immune to all the bs.

G.SKILL
Model: F4-360016Q-32GTZR, F4-3800C14D-16GTZN ?

That's not JEDEC, that's XMP.

They used DDR-4 3200 CAS 22 32GB DIMMs for comparison? That should be very easy to beat, you can get 32GB 3200 MHz DDR4 DIMMs with CAS 16 now.
