Logitech acquired the American microphone manufacturer Blue Microphones for the sum of 117 million dollars (over 100 million euros). Logitech already makes microphones for consumers, but with Blue the company would have the means to build more professional equipment.

With the acquisition of Blue, Logitech wants to enter the microphone market faster, says Logitech CEO Bracken Darrell in a blog post. "By working together with Blue, we have a new way to grow." Blue Microphones makes microphones that are used by musicians and podcasters. Among others, Bob Dylan and Imagine Dragons would use the equipment to record their music.

The acquisition  will be completed around August.
