LG teases 27-inch 27GP950 UltraGear 4K 160Hz gaming monitor with HDMI 2.1

LG will soon announce a new 27-inch gaming monitor that sits in their UltraGear series. The LG27GP950 would be a 4k (3840x2160) monitor with an HDMI 2.1 interface. The nano IPS panel supports Vesa DisplayHDR600.

Digging a notch deeper and you'll notice that the monitor is a refresh of the 27GN950-B, a monitor with a refresh rate of 144 Hz. Thanks to HDMI 2.1, the new 27GP950 can however go up to 160 Hz (overclock). It is not known whether G-Sync or FreeSync is supported, but Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) in any case. The response time is 1ms (GtG).

27GN950-B is a 160hz monitor also. There is no change there.

Expecting this panel from LENOVO offering with 165hz no OC. needed, with better contrast and factory calibration, just like the last panel GL850-B.

Are these one of those monitors that get announced in 2021 but end up coming out in 2024 for $3500?

It's advertised as a 144Hz monitor. It was, in January 2020, said that it would overclock to 160 Hz. There is a firmware update out niw which adds the overclocking to 160Hz which I found thanks to this thread. Im trying it tonight, although the Youtube vids are telling me an updated spec DP cable will be needed, rather than the one it came with.
