LG Electronics Unveils 49-Inch Gaming LCD Display with Ultra-Wide 32:9 Aspect Ratio and Curved Panel

LG Electronics unveiled its latest gaming monitor, the 49-inch 49GR85DC-B, designed to provide an ultra-wide display with an aspect ratio of 32:9. This impressive monitor boasts a resolution of 5,120 x 1,440 dots (DQHD) and an anti-glare large format display.

Moreover, it features a curved panel with a curvature of 1,000R, almost the same as the human field of vision, to make it easier for users to see both sides. The 49GR85DC-B offers high-speed drawing capabilities, with a refresh rate of 240 Hz and a response speed of 1 ms, making it one of the fastest gaming monitors on the market. Additionally, it supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro display synchronization technology. The monitor also features multiple game modes for various genres, such as FPS and RTS, and includes functions such as "Dynamic Action Sync," "Black Stabilizer," and "FPS Counter."

Other features of the 49GR85DC-B include a maximum brightness of 450cd/m², a contrast ratio of 2,500:1, and a viewing angle of 178° horizontally and vertically. It also conforms to the VESA DisplayHDR 1000 standard and covers 95% of the digital cinema standard DCI-P3. The monitor comes with three input interfaces, including DisplayPort 1.4 x 1 and HDMI 2.1 x 2, as well as a 4-pole headphone jack that supports DTS Headphone:X and a USB hub function. The external dimensions of the monitor are approximately 1,170mm in width, 393.7mm in depth, 584.2mm in height, and 14.7kg in weight.

LG's gaming brand, UltraGear, has once again delivered an impressive gaming monitor with the 49GR85DC-B. With its native 32:9 DQHD resolution, 1000R curvature, and gamer-friendly features, including hardware crosshairs and game genre-specific display presets, it is sure to be a popular choice for gaming enthusiasts.

Ok I am anti curve but on 32:9 makes sense :P

It makes sense on all ultrawide monitors. On my 34" 1500r curve is just about right.

On 21:9 I would prefer no curve personally but I can totally understand why would someone prefer curved ! Where I do not get it at all is on 16:9 27'' !

Is this FALD and how many zones?

Also, with these monitors is there a way to play a game and also have a stream or video running on the outer edges of the monitor?

If you run windowed your game for a lot of the games you have no issue sizing the window on 2/3 of the screen , and depending on the application you can write a script to resize it and move the window to the position you like and make the windows bar and borders disappear with auto hotkey I used it to force borderless window on older apps that do not support it ! The newer games are more hit or miss since they have things more locked down !
