Nvidia is scheduled to launch the GeForce RTX 3050 desktop graphics this week, but performance leaks have been scarce thus far. VideoCardz shared some 3DMark numbers.

A member of China's Bilibili video sharing community has revealed some cryptocurrency mining performance numbers for the GeForce RTX 3050. However, keep in mind that both of the leaks detailed below are unconfirmed, and as such, you should take them with a grain of salt.

Nvidia's new entry-level Ampere gaming graphics card for desktops, the GeForce RTX 3050, appears to easily outclass AMD's recently introduced Radeon RX 6500 XT GPU. The benchmarks for the GeForce RTX 3050 that have been leaked include three of 3DMark's most popular tests: FireStrike 1080p, TimeSpy, and TimeSpy Extreme. Additionally, the source compared the GeForce RTX 3050's performance against those of its stablemates, the GTX 1660 Ti and RTX 3060, as well as AMD's upcoming RDNA 2 GPU.

To summarize the performance of a GeForce RTX 3050 in a single line, it is comparable to a GTX 1660 Ti but with DLSS support and DXR. In Cryptomining,  the report from the Bilibili source does not bode well. According to a Bilibili user named Hipster, the new GeForce RTX 3050 is capable of hashing Ethereum at a rate of 13.66 MH/s while drawing 57W. It performs poorly in comparison to the GeForce RTX 3060 LHR, which can reach approximately 33 MH/s, and the original unconstrained RTX 3060, which reaches 50 MH/s (135W).

Prices go sky high just before launch
A Peruvian merchant has already listed the RTX 3050 at absurdly high pricing, pre-selling a Palit RTX 3050 Dual OC for the princely sum of $453.  Even worse is Newegg's listing for an MSI RTX 3050 Gaming X priced absurdly high at $699.98. To be fair to Newegg, this is a marketplace listing from an aftermarket vendor, which means the pricing has not been determined by Newegg. Nonetheless, the pricing is absurd, coming in at roughly triple the card's initial MSRP.
