A new NVMe SSD series for data centers, the CD7 has been introduced by Kioxia. It supports PCI-Express 5.0 connectivity, which provides double the bandwidth of previous generations.

The form factor is EDS FF E3.S, the NAND flash is of the 3D TLC type "BiCS FLASH," the bus interface is PCI-Express5.0 (x2), and the maximum capacity is 7.68TB. The NAND flash is of the type "BiCS FLASH," and the bus interface is PCI-Express5.0 (x2). The maximum transfer speed for sequential reading is 6,450MB / sec, and the maximum transfer speed for random reading is 1,050,000 IOPS.

The latency is also reduced to 75 seconds for reading and 14 seconds for writing, which is 17 percent and 60 percent less than the latency of typical goods, respectively. When compared to a standard PCI-Express 4.0 SSD, the number of lanes is half that of a standard SSD, but the performance is comparable to or better than that of a standard SSD, and it will be possible to design a server with greater density.

The "CD7" series has already begun shipping sample shipments to original equipment manufacturers.
