KIOXIA Announces PCIe 4.0 Compatible M.2 2230 SSD from BG6 Series with Maximum 2TB Capacity
KIOXIA recently unveiled the "BG6" series, a PCI Express 4.0(x4) NVMe SSD that supports the M.2 2230 form factor. This SSD offers a maximum capacity of 2TB and will commence sample shipments in the second half of 2023.
The BG6 series utilizes the 6th generation 3D BICS FLASH for its NAND flash, without incorporating a DRAM cache. However, it does feature the host memory buffer (HMB) function, making it an ideal storage solution for portable gaming PCs like the Deck and thin and light notebook PCs. Furthermore, the BG6 series boasts various features such as end-to-end data protection, a power outage notification signal function for safeguarding data during sudden power failures, TCG/Opal compliant encryption, and a firmware recovery function.
