I wipe down my work, office and home KB+M daily with rubbing alcohol and tissue paper. I would reuse the paper multiple times to get good mileage since it won't break from a gentle wipe down. Super clean.
Do wear a glove if you have sensitive skin or irritations with rubbing alcohol.

LOL
I blow the keyboard daily
My old black caps, which where not PBT doubleshot, had their paint peeling off from those rare wipeovers.
Used to take all caps once a year and wash them with hot water and soap, but these keycaps sit so tight that I rather just vacuum them more often instead to get the tiny amount of dust and sometimes cat hair away.
Avoiding dinners and chocolate at the PC besides constantly washing and sterilizing my hands plays the biggest part of having a clean keyboard and mouse, I do have psoriasis though, hence the dry white skin.
