Well that was 3 and a bit minutes of them saying they rebuilt the engine from the ground up and not really telling or showing us anything.

Yep I stopped watching after about 20 seconds after I realized they weren't actually going to say anything useful.

More interested in gameplay realism and if they are sticking with ridiculous OTT stunts like standing on a plane while using a rocket launcher. If more of that crap, not interested.

Uh... do you not understand the point of this franchise? The "ridiculous OTT stunts" is pretty much the reason these games exist. These games are popular because they're not realistic. In fact, the vast majority of the most popular games are woefully unrealistic. It's a deliberate comedic exaggeration of 80s and 90s action movies. Your criticism is no different than eating a cake while saying "it's too sweet", or the classic IGN review "7.8 - too much water".

Well one can always hope for a turn in direction. No franchise is set in stone. Profit is always the ultimate motive. Far more successful games opted for the realism route vs comedic exaggeration. Its also why I did not buy JC3.

But that would completely defeat the purpose of the franchise. Making the game realistic would ruin it, and make it just "yet another GTA-like game" but with a childish sense of humor. That's like Deus Ex without augmentations, Mortal Kombat without the finishers, Mario Kart without powerups, or Super Smash Bros without flying into the stratosphere via a punch to the face. Remove the distinguishing feature of the game and you ruin what made it interesting. And therefore, it will be left forgotten. The vast majority of realistic games don't stay in our memories. They aren't really worth talking about for more than a few sentences. Nobody comes back to them several years later. And most importantly, they get often boring REAL fast.
That couldn't be more wrong. Practically all of the best-selling and/or most iconic games of all time were very unrealistic, or were semi-realistic but deliberately broke laws of nature in order to be more fun or playable:
* GTA
* Wii Sports
* The first Sims
* Diablo
* Minecraft
* Halo
* Doom
* Rocket League
* Angry Birds
* WoW
* Portal
* Any of the classic arcade, Sega, Atari, or Nintendo games, and any games today that are part of the same franchises.
The list goes on and on. There are only a handful of very realistic games that stand the test of time.
Meanwhile, you can consider games that tried to increase realism (often inspired by a popular un-realistic franchise) and failed to capture enough of an audience, such as Blur, Shenmue II, Deadliest Warrior, or Rust.
tl;dr - if you want Just Cause to be realistic, you're asking the wrong feature of the wrong game.
EDIT:
For the record, I like plenty of realistic games. One of my favorite games is the Metro series, which is just about as realistic as video games get.

I knew while typing that I was opening a can of worms
. Of course many, many unrealistic games on all levels, some of my favorites as well (ie, Skyrim, which is about as "unrealistic" as you can get). But the unrealism was based on context or logical premises for the games, like magic, sci-fi or fantasy. What I was referring to was the commonly accepted 'realism assumptions' of games in real world settings, where there is no magic or fantasy basis. Games which assume there is gravity to hold you down as you walk or proper physics like wind force where you get blown off a planes wings at 200+mph. Yes, there are always exaggerations in games, but when things get way OTT, that kills it for me. I'm not laughing at those comedic effects. But rather feel like a 14 year old who is being tricked into thinking he's playing something really cool or funny.

AM I the only person that thinks Just Cause 2 seemed to look better and run perfectly VS JC3? I wasn't impressed with JC3.

These games are so brain dead I can't stand them for more than 10 minutes. These games got nothing going for them. Just go around and blow stuff up. Mindless gaming fun is fine, but these games are just so brainless its just bad on a whole new level.

JC2 was awesome, completely gratuitous and the voice acting was so bad it was damn near as funny as The Room.
