June Steam Hardware Survey: Nvidia, Intel and Windows 10 continue to grow

Steam has published the results of its monthly hardware and software survey for June 2019, which, statistically speaking, also provides an interesting impression of the hardware used by the users. For Nvidia, Intel and Windows 10 you can notice growth of market share.



According to the numbers, Nvidia still dominates the PC desktop GPU field with 75.5 percent (+ 0.64%) and Intel with 82.01 percent (+ 0.21%) the graphics cards and processors of the Steam users and increased slightly compared to the previous month, The most popular graphics card was again the aging midrange GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card at 15.5 percent (-0.19%), followed by the GTX 1050 Ti at 10.28 percent (+ 0.74%) and the GTX 1050 with 6.02 percent (+ 1.00%), which together account for around one third of the spread.

Geforce RTX barely noticeable
When we look at the Geforce RTX models, the Geforce RTX 2070 is the most popular model with 1.06 percent (+0.15), while others are below one percentage point. Here's a shocker, Full HD remains the most commonly used resolution at 64.50 percent (+2.04), while WQHD remains imperceptible at 4.71 percent (+0.03) and UHD at 1.61 percent (+0.01) have increased. The number of DX12 systems grew by about 2 percent to 67.57 percent (with Windows 10) or 23.66 percent (without Windows 10), while the most common video memory is 2 GB (19.48 percent, + 1.16%).

Quad-core and 8 GB of RAM continue standard
Meanwhile, quad-core systems were down slightly at 53.3 percent (-1.47%), while systems with more than four CPU cores posted a slight gain of 0.28 percent (27.71 percent overall), as did Dual-core processors +1.33 percent (total 18.27 percent), with no exact breakdown of hexa- and octacores. RAM at 8GB was still the most widely used at 38.36% (+ 1.27%) and 16GB at 33.89% (-0.54%).



Windows 10 front, VR stagnant
On the operating systems side, Windows 10 64-bit with 70.92 percent (+ 3.08%) could keep its lead ahead of Windows 7 64-bit with 21.34 percent (-2.09 percent) and Windows 8.1 64-bit with 2.74 Increase percent (-0.18%). In the VR sector, there were slight shifts among the competitors, with the Oculus Rift being the most used model with 0.44 percent (-0.02%), followed by HTC Vive with 0.41 percent, unchanged from the previous month, and Windows Mixed Reality with 0.11 percent (+ 0.01%).

Participation in the Steam Hardware and Software Survey is voluntary to users and no precise information is provided on the number of participants or the individual markets, but the distribution is likely to be relatively meaningful.
