At NVIDIA's CES 2022 presentation, Senior Vice President Jeff Fisher highlighted the company's next flagship graphics card, the RTX 3090 Ti, and promised further information on the hardware later in January. It's now February and things remain silent.

NVIDIA has yet to provide any other information on the card, including pricing and availability. This could be related to recent hardware/BIOS difficulties that prompted NVIDIA to advise all board partners to stop the production of bespoke models until the situation was resolved. The forthcoming flagship GPU includes 10752 compute units (CUDA cores), 24GB GDDR6X memory running at 21 Gbps, and a 450W TDP that is supported by a 16-pin power connector this might be delayed. Despite the fact that this model has been on NVIDIA's roadmap for several weeks, it wasn't until early January that we got a glimpse of the company's intentions for the RTX 30 enthusiast segment.

The Geforce RTX 3090 Ti reportedly has problems with both the BIOS and the hardware. The latter is of course quite broad, but the PCB is more likely to be affected here than the GPU. Pausing the production; Several sources confirmed that this is really the case. The BIOS and hardware, according to them, are both having problems at the same time. Because the specifics of the situation are not yet known, it is unknown whether board partners will be needed to change the boards that have already been manufactured or if they will be obliged to wait for a solution from NVIDIA.  We don't have access to the whole set of specifications for the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, but we do know that we can expect about 40 TFLOPs of single-precision computation performance from the card. Oh, and those custom RTX 3090 Ti graphics cards are designed to be powerhouses that can consume 1000W or more of electrical power, but 450W in a regular setup.

Update 15/2

According to Nvidia, at this time, no additional information on the RTX 3090 Ti is shared with customers. The company has stated that it will make additional information available as soon as possible. It is the first official response from the manufacturer following the postponement of the upcoming Ampere flagship.
