Intel Xe graphics card spotted in benchmark database (no benchmarks though).
By 2020 Intel's first graphics cards based on the Xe architecture will be released. The first test phase has already been completed, as Intels Robert "Bob" H. Swan mentioned in a statement after the announcement of the quarterly results in late October - it was an "important milestone ."
Now all of the sudden an entry in the benchmark database of GFXBench is spotted. There, a device named "Graphics gfx-driver-user-feature_dg1_poweron-27723 DCH ReleaseInternal" listed. The abbreviation "dg1" stands for Discrete Graphics 1 and has long been associated with Intel's Xe architecture. The latest discovery was made by the @KOMACHI.
No real benchmark was performed or the results have been restricted from viewing neither will; you be able to read out specs, but only a so-called power-on test - the card was put into operation. Instead of detailed results you will find only "N/A" (not available). But this at least proves the functionality of the GPU and the device drivers. Rumors assume up to 512 EUs (execution units) for Xe, which should be about the same as the performance of a Geforce RTX 2080. Xe graphics cards are expected somehwere in the middle of 2020 at the earliest.

1. You mean AMD and NV probably? NV released a WHQL certified driver about 1,5 year ago which led to Watch Dogs 2 crashing or not being able to be launched. Or you can list the WHQL drivers that led to Chrome video play anomalies.
2. AMD launched two cards. One is $350 and is as fast as the $400 2060S. The other is $400 and only 9% slower than the $500 2070S (with old games added, in newer games its more or less equal in average).
3. We are talking about INTEL.

Note I am not having a go at AMD here, I have been using their cpu and Ati video cards for a long time and they do have spells where the drivers have to catch up with the hardware, more so than Intel or nvidia in my opinion. They certainly give good bang per buck though on some generations.
In regards to 2) above I meant nvidia did not reduce price of their cards down to compete they went for more performance at same price point with the super series. That's no good for someone who has a fixed limit $$ wise. AMD 5700s are good value for money.

Haha. I argued (half-jokingly) Intel having good drivers isn't ensured since they have an ex-AMD Raja at the helm, and you think I put the man on a pedestal? Doesn't compute. I don't think he's anything special, especially after he jumped ships. It's not like during his time anything especially good would have happened to the AMD graphics division. Sure, he most likely didn't have the money he would have liked to have for R&D, but conversely it also means his team wasn't extraordinary enough to pull off miracles with limited money, unlike the Ryzen team.

Raja probably had little to do with software side of things.

Considering how little we know about this GPU, it's possible this isn't their best offering. But even if it is, this is a very healthy first-generation, especially considering how little time they've had to optimize drivers.
He wasn't the reason GPUs like the Vega series were disappointing, either.

stop putting raja on a pedestal, he wasn't the radeon saviour you make him out to be.
