Intel will likely increase CPU pricing soon

Intel will likely increase CPU pricing soon

According to recent Asian reports, Intel is contemplating price hikes for many of its products. Intel Xeon and Intel Core CPUs for desktop PCs, laptops, and servers will soon be offered at greater costs.

Intel would then pass on the additional expenses from the manufacturing chain. Uncertainty remains surrounding the magnitude of price rises. It is anticipated to be in the double digits or high single digits. In some instances, price rises of up to 20% are possible. Intel does not comment publicly on these rumors. The price hikes may take effect in the fall of 2022. High inflation, mainly owing to increased energy prices and supply constraints continue to wreak havoc on the semiconductor sector.

In Europe, the effects of inflation are especially pronounced: As a result of the conflict in Ukraine and the frosty ties with Russia, for instance, the euro is presently worth precisely one US dollar. In addition to Intel, other firms are likely to increase their costs. Both business-to-business and business-to-consumer commerce will be affected.

My next system/upgrade is going to be very difficult to choose due to prices increases on CPUs, MB and GPUs...

Good thing my current system is still going strong otherwise things would be ugly to my pockets.

But at the same time, the PS5 is looking better than ever...

Something tells me increasing prices on the brink of worldwide recession and austerity measures is not the brightest idea. Then again, being out of touch is pretty much a headline of the tech industry. Genuinely curious how this will work out for them.

Ironic, since you are the one who is "out of touch". :)

There is no "recession" in the PC market. That was bullshit from an analyst comparing post Covid with pandemic sales figures (when everyone was upgrading because they were stuck at home).

The same analysis showed that PC sales today (post Covid) vs. PRE pandemic numbers are the same if not increasing. But the clickbait fearmongering headlines only focused on the bullshit part of this report...of course.

So, no, Intel is not making a mistake here in the world represented by REALITY, instead of the imaginary world of conspiracy kooks, clickbait, and LowIQanonsense.

PS Rightwing austerity measures have already proven not to work the entire world over. They will not be returning.

"Hey, we have a 9% boost for you. At 10 to 20% increased price. How many do you want?" -- Intel sales person

Honestly, they're making millions and billions every year, and when they have to swallow price increases one time, they don't. How should one have any sympathy with those companies at all?
Same AMD and Nvidia, they all had major profits, of which none end up having positive impact for the computer DIY business in general or the consumer. And then they want us to have "brand loyality"... yeah right.
It'll be interesting to see how many stay slavishly loyal to their chosen cults, I mean brands, as time progresses.

I cannot tell if this is sarcasm or not but I am aware of no unregulated or wild-west capitalism anywhere. The western governments of the world have their tendrils deep into their economies.
