Intel to push Broadwell - dates revealed

Intel is planning to push its 14nm Broadwell processors, which will be released by the end of 2014, into three major notebook segments: entry-level non-touchscreen traditional notebooks sized 10.1- to 17.3-inch and priced between US$199-599; 2-in-1 devices priced between US$349-999; and 14- to 17-inch performance-level notebooks priced above US$1,500, according to sources from the upstream supply chain.

Notebook brand vendors have also started clearing their Haswell-based notebook inventories recently.

Intel's Core M processors codenamed Broadwell Y already entered mass shipments in September and have been widely adopted in 2-in-1 devices from vendors such as Lenovo and Asustek Computer looking to attract demand for the year-end holidays. Intel's Broadwell U series will enter mass production in January 2015 and begin mass shipments by the end of the first quarter 2015. The high-end Broadwell H series will become available in the third quarter of 2015.

Following Broadwell, Intel will release its next-generation 14nm Skylake series and the processors will enter mass produ

Intel doesn't have to do anything else right now because AMD is not challenging them. When AMD released it's first Bulldoser CPUs they were later than projected and underwhelming upon initial release. Now Intel has an additional 3 generations of progress and AMD has nothing to counter with. Innovation has stagnated due to lack of competition.

Yep I hate this.

Hopefully AMD's recent partnership with SAMSUNG to use their 20nm fab factory will help give AMD a boost they need to compete with Intel.
