Computex 2017: Intel To Release 18 core Core i9-7980XE Skylake-X CPU - 05/29/2017 03:30 PM
Many expect Intel to answer AMDs 16-core processors with 12 maybe 14 core processors. Certainly not as they will be releasing an 18-core Skylake-X CPU, you better grab your life-savings. The processo...
Intel to Further Bundle Optane memory With Series 200 motherboards - 05/18/2017 05:10 PM
It seems Intel is hurting in PC sales due to a 'weak demand'in the PC DiY market. Hence Intel is pushing its motherboard partners to bundle Optane memory, much like MSI recently did. Motherboard ma...

Intel to Offer Affordable 600p NVMe SSDs - 08/26/2016 12:33 PM
Granted, you do need a compatible motherboard, but NVMe SSDs are as far as I am concerned incredibly intersting if you want enthusiast grade SSD performance. Up-to this moment a little bit pricy. Inte...

So fast tracking Coffee Lake by 6 months eh, that can only go down a treat can't it. I mean it's not like X299 was a total mess and none of Intel's current line are worth buying to get a fire under the Intel PR team to force more early releases...
They really got rattled by AMD didn't they
Yeah, full-on panic mode, LOL. In all my years, I've never seen Intel rattled like this. At this rate, we'll have the 9th gen by October, and the 10th gen by Christmas
Not that it matters at this point, at least with me. They lost me as a customer earlier this year, and have done nothing to win me back.

Two desktop microarchitectures in the same year. On top of that, they require a new motherboard to support Coffee (+milk) Lake. Three if you count the HEDT X299
I jumped on the AMD train from Haswell. I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon. Especially with Zen2 and Zen3 being able to use the AM4 socket and X370 chipset for a few years ahead.
