Intel is to launch 540S-ssd with TLC nand flash memory. The 540S specs can be found on a German price comparison engine. The SSD series will receive 16nm tlc-memory from SK Hynix, the units will be available in  2.5"- and M2 formats with capacities ranging from 120GB to 1TB.

Intel has now announced this series just yet, but you can check the specs and naming right here at Geizhalz. You will spot the Intel SSD 540S-series with six models at 120, 180, 240, 360 en 480GB and one 1TB version.

The controlelr will be the Silicon Motion SM2256 that also is used in the Crucial BX200 SSD series. From the top of my head this will be the first series from Intel based on TLC, also interesting to see is that Intel has moved away from Micron as they are using SK Hynix NAND here.

The maximum read and write performance for the SSD series is 560MB/s and 480 MB/sec. Intel should be launching the product series somewhere in April. the 120GB version would cost 70 EURO running up-to 370 EURO for the 1TB model.
