Intel SSD 760p Performance and Volume Sizes Surface

Intel SSD 760p Performance and Volume Sizes Surface

Earlier this week we talked about a number of upcoming NAND storage solutions from Intel, among it the 760p. A new slide just leaked revealing volume sizes and also a listed, Sequential read and write performance.

Intel 760p (TLC)

The Intel SSD 760p is TLC based, in 128GB up-to 2TB volume sizes (M.2). The performance is rated at 3,200 MB/s sequential read and 1,600 MB/s sequential write speeds. The random performance comes to 350,000 IOPS read and 280,000 IOPS write.

So the new slide (below) reveals five 760p series models, 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB, 1 TB, and 2 TB. The smallest one will be the slowest at a rated 100K IOPS and 1500/650 MB/sec read/writes for sequential.

Then they scale upwards, after 512GB the units will be at their best performance, 3200 MB/sec for reads and at least 1670 MB/sec on writes. The 1TB and 2TB still show a TBD entry, meaning they likely will be a notch faster even. Intel launches the TLC NAND based 760p some time February or March.

BTW if you have ever wondered, small p for flash, large P for 3D XPoint ;-)
