Intel has resolved a problem that was causing a specific operating system software to consume excessive processing power and RAM for Windows 10 and Windows 11 users.

In order to take advantage of the driver upgrade, your Intel processor must be from the sixth generation (Skylake) or newer. A performance drain would be experienced by some users when the relevant background application for Windows 10 and 11, which may be found in the Task Manager or as 'dwm.exe,' was running in the background. The application would require up to ten percent of the processor's processing power and up to one hundred megabytes (MB) of memory.

The Desktop Windows Manager is an app that renders Windows visual effects, from transparent windows, to live taskbar thumbnails. It even supports high-resolution monitor setups. In the near future, the update will be made available through Windows Update. However, the exact date depends on the device’s manufacturer. Those who are eager to get this issue fixed can use Intel’s Driver and Support Assistant
