Intel Shows Xe Graphics Family GPU Photos (Calls it BFP (Big Fabulous Package))

The man who defected from AMD Radeon team and moved towards Intel's GPU team, Raja Koduri, has been showing actual silicon being tested on Intel’s Xe Graphics Family of GPUs.

He posted a series of photos, among them some older ones, on Twitter. You will notice three Xe-based products. To the far left, you'll see a Xe-HP based data center accelerator. There's a new product on the right side and a massive GPU located in the bottom right corner.

The top right product can be Intel’s DG1 and the big one an 'Arctic Sound prototype.

Given the ginormous size of the Xe based GPUs they would likely have to be multichip based, and that confirmed pretty much the 'tiled' design. The new big Xe product in the bottom right is called BFP – Big Fabolous Package. It is so big that it cannot be a consumer product, and thus that likely is a Xe-HPC-based data center accelerator.

Intel would be making tiles, you may call them chiplets even with multi-chip per package solutions. photos also include lab ones, where the products are cooled. Have a browse as these are always funky to watch.

Considering traditional "arrow" in corner, it goes into Socket! :D

Here's to hoping for some serious GPU competition in the market.

Alleviate some of them high ass price points as of late.

Aye - if it's shit - no problem.... don't buy it.

If it's good... we can only benefit.

So big, so expensive. Why you have to do this Intel? Smaller is better! Not what she said, I know, but for tech it is!
