Intel shows off Core 2 Duo E8700 specifications
If you point your browser towards Intel.com you'll notice the magic appearance of a Core 2 Duo E8700, which apparently Intel is prepping for release. The new Core 2 Duo E8700 processor will be clocked at 3.5 GHz, making it the fastest dual-core processor on the globe.
In the Xeon family there already was a 3.5 GHz processor, yet it's based on socket lga771. This new processor obviously will have a LGA 775 package. The processor will run on a1333MHz FSB, comes with 6MB L2-cache and has a 65W TDP, not bad.
