As part of its IDM 2.0 strategy, Intel is streamlining its focus on core businesses by divesting its Data Center Solutions Group (DSG). This decision is in line with the company's previous exits from non-core segments such as Intel Optane, network switches, and 5G modems.

While Intel did not hold a dominant position in the overall server system hardware market, the company boasted a robust product range. The acquisition of DSG by MiTAC, a leading edge-to-cloud IT solutions provider and long-standing ODM collaborator of DSG, will allow MiTAC to manufacture and market products based on Intel's designs.

An Intel spokesperson has assured the company's dedication to supporting the DSG team and stakeholders throughout the transition. This move is yet another step in Intel's IDM 2.0 strategy, which aims to establish the company as a top-tier Integrated Device Manufacturer (IDM) with an emphasis on core businesses.
