Intel samples DG2 gaming video cards: release imminent?

At the 2021 International Supercomputing Conference, Intel unveiled information about its Xe graphics cards (ISC). Concentrating on supercomputing, the main topic was the Ponte Vecchio GPU (Xe-HPC), available as an Open Accelerator Module, with a maxi consumption of 600 watts combined into four or eight clusters.

The chip designer has also confirmed that the first DG2 GPUs are being sampled. These chips are Xe-HPG and therefore aim to play video cards. Even if Intel has not officially announced a time window, this annual market will not be affected by the first model. We are not too far away from the release, if we are to believe the company's Twitter page. For instance, cardholder Intel Odyssey may register to receive certain blue-colored cards. The following description can be found on the promotion page:

Thank you for joining Intel on this Odyssey. We are soon heading toward a milestone moment, the pending release of the Xe HPG microarchitecture from Intel. Some of you received an Odyssey card and were the first to engage with Intel on this journey. Now is the time to redeem this card, which is one in many steps we hope to formally take forward with you.
