Intel publishes list of incompatible games with Alder Lake (due to DRM)

It's a known fact that some games have performance issues with Alder lake processors, this has everything to do with DRM copy protections versus the energy cores on these CPUs. As a result, intel published list of affected games.

An Intel statement mentions that the hybrid CPU core design of Alder Lake may be incompatible with certain games, notably those protected by Denuvo's anti-piracy DRM software and that the company is investigating the issue. A study of the Core i9-12900K proved this when we attempted to run the hit AAA Ubisoft title Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, which was part of our processor test suite and got excluded. The game would fail midway through the test run, or it would simply not boot up at all, depending on the configuration.

This list will be updated as patches are released.

It's a bad policy for a company, to give a much worse product to paying costumers, than what pirates can get.
Denuvo and similar DRM have to go away. Paying costumers can't be victims to paranoid decisions about piracy.
This has been said since the beginning of time, and yet Denuvo like DRM, still exists, still gives honest LEGAL game owners a poorer exp compared to pirated copies, nothing has changed since that sentence was first uttered, and I have no doubt that nothing will change in the future either.

The annoyance of needing to have the CD or DVD in the optical drive when playing a game fully installed on the HDD was the first, historical part of it, if we ignore floppy disk copy protections from even deeper in the history, preventing backups. Pirates never had such restrictions.

One of my earliest recollections of DRM, bonus points if anyone names the game this was for.

Edit: I hope Hilbert doesn't ban me for this or squeal to The Man, technically I have just enabled all the pirates to load up and play this game now without owning it. I'll be expecting an armed police raid any second.

Strange reading that people won't buy alder lake because of this where as they should not be buying the games that include the protection that causes these issues.

Piracy will make a big comeback then.

Not that it ever went away ^^
I'm not an advocate for/against Denuvo, but seriously, game companies need to stop making paying customers bear the brunt of this whole DRM nonsense that has been ongoing for the longest time.

(People that want to pirate, will pirate regardless. Or they simply just won't play it, period)
