Yeah, that does put a GPU named like Big NAVI to shame really. Mind you though, this is a GPU  for supercomputing. Shortly following the Meteor Lake processor announcements Intel showed their GPU Ponte Vecchio (Xe-HPC), a chip for supercomputers at an exascale.

According to Intel, this GPU has a total of 47 tiles, which add up to a density of more than 100 billion transistors, and will be used for the first time later this year in the Argonne National Laboratory supercomputer, along with Intel processors. Sapphire Rapid, offering an approximate performance of 1exaFLOP.

Intel's Senior Vice President of Graphics Products Division revealed that with Ponte Vecchio it is possible to have power PetaFLOPs in the palm of your hand. In addition, he indicated that this was possible in just 2 years thanks to the ambition of the company's engineers. That is all the information they provided, but there is no doubt that Intel Ponte Vecchio will compete with the accelerators NVIDIA Hopper and AMD CDNA2. Additionally, all three architectures are expected to feature chiplet designs.
