Ice Lake laptops processors are officially introduced today, eleven models will end up in at least thirty-five different laptops between now and the Q4 holiday season. The Ice Lake-U and Ice Lake-Y chips will get TDPs of 15-25 and 9-12 watts respectively.

Intel claims that this new generation will offer an increased IPC of 18 percent thanks to architectural changes. Next, to that the IGPs have been beefed up and will make a large step forwards in performance. Depending on whether a model name ends in G1, G4 or G7, you will receive an integrated GPU with 32, 48 or 64 execution units, the new IGP is labeled IRIS Plus. The EUs are considerably more than the maximum of 24 units embedded into the existing processors. The GPUs will also support adaptive sync. There will be Ice Lake processors in the Core i3, i5 and i7 series with up to four cores and with TDPs of 9, 15 or 28 watts. All processors have an integrated WiFi 6 controller (AX WIFI) and a USB-C controller that can control up to four Thunderbolt 3 connections. The Ice Lake processors support lpddr4 (x) -3733 memory and ddr4-3200.

The Ice Lake-U series are to be as follows; Core i5 and i7 models are all quad cores. Te Core i3-1005G1 has two cores. The most advanced model, the Core i7-1068G7, has a single-core turbo of 4.1 GHz and an all-core turbo of 3.6 GHz but does come at a higher TDP at 28 Watt. With the Ice Lake-Y cpus the specified clock speeds are lower. These processors will often are used in thin laptops that offer less space in terms of cooling to make maximum use of the turbo.

Intel did not comment or announce any 10nm deskstop processors.
