Digital Times reports that Intel is aggressively selling server CPUs at low rates and cites unidentified sources to support their claims. Intel, according to reports, is taking this action in order to maintain its dominance in the server market.

Many server administrators have recently switched to AMD processors, which has angeredIntel. It is unclear on what scale Intel sells server processors below the suggested retail price, or whether this is related to AMD's apparent popularity.

Intel's way would be less difficult in any event. In contrast to AMD's limited supply chain, Intel's is enormous. The blue camp also has a foot in a number of other markets, which makes it simple to move earnings, expenses, and risks around. Because AMD has less flexibility than Intel, Intel's market dominance may be cemented as a result of this strategy.
