Intel expands Atom C3000 processor line with four new SoCs

Intel expands Atom C3000 processor line with four new SoCs

Rather silently Intel added four new processors to its three-year-old Atom C3000 line. The fantastic four are given the additions 'R' and 'L'.

Intel announced the Atom C3000 line, codenamed Denverton, in 2017 and since then added four new processors to the range. The models are Atom C3338R, C3436L, C3558R and C3758R. We're not certain what the R stands for, but these processors are variants of existing models with higher clock speeds, slightly higher TDPs, and somewhat higher prices.

At an extra 2 Watts the Atom C3338R has a 300MHz higher base clock frequency and adds support for QAT (Intel QuickAssist Technology). The quad-core C3436L has a tdp of 10.75W and thus lowers the tdp for the 'entry-level' quad-core by 0.75W compared to the Atom C3508. However, this reduces the speed by 300 MHz and the processor is also slightly cheaper. With the Atom C3558R, the Intel Atom C3558 gets a successor that clocks 200 MHz higher as standard and supports ddr4-2400. However, it is slightly more expensive and the tdp increases by 1W. Finally, the Atom C3758R gets a 200MHz higher base clock speed and a 1W higher tdp compared to the Atom C3758. Serve The Home has updated line up in a row table. Intel itself has not communicated about the introduction.

Does new line of Atoms have decent IPC, or is it as bad as before?
4C/4T "Pentium" N5000 crushes 4C/4T Atom x7-z8700 as it has double per core performance at same clock.
I guess check the instruction sets. The Atom you spoke of seems to be pretty barren, basically just offering the essential instructions to run modern software, but not a whole lot that'll help with performance.
