News on the next-generation Xeon CPUs has leaked. According to Yuuki Ans, Emerald Rapids will be built on the 'enhanced' Intel 7 node, support DDR5-5600, and feature 80 PCI-Express 5.0 lanes.

Rapids Cove, an improved Golden Cove core architecture, will be used by Emerald Rapids. IPC should be increased by 5 to 10% when using Golden Cove cores. The top CPU will feature 64 cores and 128 threads, which is more than the 56 cores and 112 threads of the Sapphire Rapids. Eagle Stream is compatible with socket E CPUs ranging from 125 to 350 watts (lga4677). DDR5 memory has a maximum transfer rate of 5600 MT/s at 1dpc and 4800 MT/s at 2dpc. Four upi 2.0 connections per CPU provide x24 bandwidth and performance of 20 GT/s. Each CPU has 80 fifth-generation PCI Express lanes, plus PCI Express 4.0 from the northbridge. SIV and shared virtual memory are included. The Emmitsburgh PC is equipped with 20 PCI Express 3.0 lanes, 1G Ethernet for administration, and an x8 DMI connection.

AMD's server CPUs might be available soon. AMD Genoa is a 96-core processor based on the Zen 4 architecture.
