Intel Discontinues 9th Gen Skylake-X 9xxx Desktop and Workstation HEDT series Processors

In a new PCN (product change notification), Intel sends work that it is permanently ending Skylake-X based processors, and that is the 9th generation X series.

Skylake-X (mind the X) are the HEDT processors that reside on an LGA2066 package. Roughly 10 Xeon W-2000 series workstation processors have discontinued as well as a handful of 9900 and 9800 X series processors for desktop. You can find the PCN here.

Thanks, SOTN for the news submit.

That's what happens when your "High-End" line-up is just barely competing with the other gal' Mainstream

p.s. They should discontinue 10-series HEDT as well.

Might as well. At this point there's no reason to buy them - you can either get 10th gen parts for a reasonable price or go for AMD.

I have a feeling even the 10th gen HEDT chips are extremely low volume now. Starting in the HEDT chips AMD really takes it to Intel from performance to pricing.

I have 18 Core 10th get 2066 socket and it is better than Ryzen AM4 and Comet Lake S. Such a wonderful product and 2066 platform itself.
