Intel Core i7-6950X Benchmarked Against i7-5960X
If you check out our forums, you'll notice that Silicon Lottery has posted benchmark results of the Intel Core i7-6950X Tested Against a Core i7-5960X.
Overclocked it reached 4.50 GHz and got a Cinebench R15 score of 2327 points. At 4.00 GHz, it scored 1904 points, 19.5 percent higher than the i7-5960X at the same clocks (the i7-6950X features two extra cores). The 6950X is a ten-core chip with HyperThreading and a 25MB L3 cache / quad-channel DDR4 memory controller.
The memory read speeds were nearly the same, but the memory write speeds were found to be a staggering 35% percent higher on the i7-6950X.
Check out the post from our buddy at Silicon Lottery here.

Oh my freaking god-MUST HAVE! I dont think I will be able to afford something like that tough. At those prices I would need to work all month in order to buy just the Cpu.
But wow 10 cores,20 threads!!! I would have guessed $1000 max, I dont see who is going to drop that kinda $ on a cpu.
Lucky you! That is almost 3 average wages where I live

Cinebench is very dependent on nubmer of cpu cores and scales great with multi-core processors, as every modern cpu rendering engine does.
25% more cores and +19.5% acceleration probably means that single core speed is the same as 5960X (at same clock).
Hm... 14nm + 2 more cores... Nice.

There is talk that this chip uses a MCC die configuration instead of LCC. Could result in lower per core IPC in some scenerios..
So it is possible that even in a standard user scenario, it will not be the "be all end all" cpu for the standard gamer. Remains to be seen.
I was going to pick one up but if there is "possibly" not much ipc improvement over a 5960x, there really is no reason to for the price. Even if you do other stuff then game.

Well you need to take into consideration how much the cost of living is also,Gas and things alike...Trust me you have no reason to envy me.
The max id pay for a Cpu would be $500 dollars not a penny more. This is just getting out of hand. But I guess its good to have a (Halo) product in order to get the public to drool.
