Intel Core i7-11700 Rocket Lake Gets Benchmarked
On YouTube a new video emerged of an i7-11700 Rocket Lake processor, being bitter against the predominantly the 5800X. The i7-11700 appears to be slightly faster than the 5800X in both the single- and multi-threaded tests of the CPU-Z Bench.
It also shows it's faster than Ryzen 7 5800X in Cinebench R15 and R20. However, this has to be stated, I just compared this results set of the 5800X with our own benchmarks, and theirs seem to be lower, at least in the single-threaded numbers they're way off. In the video 5800X keeps the lead with 7-Zip but Blender then would favor the i7-11700. In V-Ray and Handbrake Ryzen is then faster again.
It has also been compared how Cypress Cove's larger cache should affect memory performance. The L2 cache has grown less, but in Aida64 the L2 cache is about 50% faster in read and copy tasks. The L3 cache is slightly slower with a performance drop of up to 20%. We have a bit of an issue with the Ryzen values as the numbers don't add up in all tests, and we don't know what the PL plans on this motherboard has been for the Core i7-11700. The i7-11700 offers an 8 core / 16 thread configuration under the Cypress Cove architecture at a 14nm+++ process, clocked at 2.90 / 4.40 GHz, and a 65W TDP. What do you mean
Is plain obvious that 11700 is Intel's 65W, 8 core bottom feeder.
(A very) rough 3nm projection:
going from its 14nm to TSMC's 3nm, Intel should shave power by more than 2/3.
Think 220W ->
while 3nm should bring only 1/3 less power to AMD which already uses some kind of advanced 7nm.
140W -> 90W
assumptions:
intel's 14nm = TSMC N10
Zen3 7nm is halfway between N7 and N5
i mean prices ? are they on pre order already ?

how are you getting this ?
according to actual tech sites,not some youtube turds,it is.

same or higher performance for lower price
now these are just leaks,but the ipc uplift seems to be there.if you like taking risks then mock rkl before it comes out,but will your face be red when this 11700 drops at 350 eur and beats 5800x..... I am not making predictions,all I want is a 5600x equivalent for 220-240 eur and I'm happy.If their 6 core is 350 eur like 5600x and 8 core is 450 eur they can stick it,there's plenty of discounted 8/10c comet lakes to buy.
Good luck with that I guess it boils down to how much you want current gen stuff if you dont then get second hand, if you do pay the price but to expect either of these to sell the current gen product which is faster, and uses less power for less than they did the last gen is frankly loony, take that scenario forward and you have the Intel model of increased prices for the same or little incremental improvement because nobody is willing to pay for the research and Engineering.

that's a killer price for the 11400f, even with VAT it's 170 eur.11500 looks right where I want it to be at 220eur.If it beats 10900k in single core at this price it's an instabuy.
11700f is pretty affordable,though i'd rather see it a 300eur not 330.
everything above that is pricey.
not even gonna comment on i9s,must be april fool's prices.
